Originally, I wrote this article series late in 2012, and re-edited to adapt it to this point in time.
Countless people all around the world were asking all sorts of questions about December 21st, 2012 in those days, while only a dozen days left to the fearful – or fateful – date that was shown in Mayan Calendar. As a motivational speaker, inspirational author, and a spiritualist blogger, I’ll try to share the picture with you along with my own opinions on the topic, and let’s try to decide about what it could be, or what might happen. Anyway, we will see if we’re right or wrong very soon, right?
There are various voices, talking about differing opinions from NASA to Vatican, from – yeah, even – Islamic fundamentalists to Jews, from Japanese Princess who claims to have had a rare spiritual experience – I don’t think she would risk her throne if what she says were rubbish, unless she is a critical head-case, and I believe her up to a certain point exactly – to UFO supporters.
So, let’s have a look at what kind of questions we are facing here from;
- Scientific point of view
- Theological point of view
- Spiritualist point of view
and try to approach each with a few questions.
Since this will be quite a long article, and because I don’t want to bore you with one that pages-long, I’ll try to examine each of these approaches in three articles taking one at a time.
So here we go with…
Scientific point of view (and mass media controlled by governments, of course)
Whereas I always prefer common sense, logic, and philosophy to physics, or metaphysics – and science, yeah, because it’s very narrow minded – still we have to examine what we have in hand solidly. But remember something very important here: NASA and related scientific data belong to the governments, and of course, to elitist groups who would never like you to question some sensitive subjects (that’s why we have worldwide soccer leagues – instead of gladiator fights, because I think they finally realized it was a huge waste of human resources I guess, or they prefer mass destruction since it’s much easier, I don’t know – fashion, TV channels, etc. right?). Based on an article posted on official NASA website (http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/2012.html, but the link is dead now) you can find the questions below, and so-called answers to each of them, but I will question the answers here first:
Question (Q): Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012.
Answer (A): The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.
Questioning Answer (QA): Well, threat might not be associated with 2012, and it might be something coming progressively through the years, like ozone layer, or global warming. If not, why were they making a fuss out of these problems?
On the other hand, the threat might not be obvious, yet. Yeah, I’m talking about the CERN experiment, which self-righteous scientists who try to play God-game decided to make on the exact date, just for the sake of media attention. This experiment is about creating a time tunnel, or let’s say some sort of black-hole. (Are they out of their minds, for Christ’s sake? They appear to be little kids who try to play adult games, you know? Ok, let them go ahead, and create their damn time tunnel or whatever, and let’s see altogether what happens then.)
This is the possibility one!
Additional comment for today: I’m glad that that experiment was given up. Sometimes the scientist may have enough commonsense to know where to stop, fortunately. I really didn’t have good feelings about that experiment.
Q: Could planets align in a way that impacts Earth?
A: There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. One major alignment occurred in 1962, for example, and two others happened during 1982 and 2000. Each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.
QA: Well, at a global level, from the point of mass destruction, yes, this might be a small one. However, in each occurrence mentioned above there were massive earthquakes, and other kind of disasters afterwards almost all around the world; even after simple solar or lunar eclipses. While that’s the case, this one can’t be thought as the end of the world.
Q: Does the Mayan calendar end in December 2012?
A: Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then – just as your calendar begins again on January 1 – another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.
QA: I believe they are absolutely right about this; December 21st, 2012 is the end of a period in Mayan calendar. Right! Just like our yearly calendar. Right? Only one question: What kind of a period is it, and why is it that long? Can it be the end of an astrological period that lasts around 3.5 thousand years as claimed?
Q: Is NASA predicting a “total blackout” of Earth on Dec. 23 to Dec. 25?
A: Absolutely not. Neither NASA nor any other scientific organization is predicting such a blackout. The false reports on this issue claim that some sort of “alignment of the Universe” will cause a blackout. There is no such alignment. Some versions of this rumor cite an emergency preparedness message from NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. This is simply a message encouraging people to be prepared for emergencies, recorded as part of a wider government preparedness campaign. It never mentions a blackout.
QA: Ok, ok, I believe in them. We won’t shake them to their toes with this one, promise. Just one question only to quench my curiosity: Why have they built those secret underground bases then? To protect the people from nuclear attacks, which practically don’t exist as a threat anymore especially due to the collapse of USSR?
Additional comment for today: While it is a fact that USSR went down, Russia came back stronger than ever. With Putin at the helm, they show the real fighting and no-nonsense spirit of the classic Russians nowadays. And also, there was no “total blackout” whatsoever. However, there’s still something fishy about those facilities, and frankly, it stinks even worse than before now.
Q: Is there a planet or brown dwarf called Nibiru or Planet X or Eris that is approaching the Earth and threatening our planet with widespread destruction?
A: Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax. There is no factual basis for these claims. If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles.
QA: Oh, riiiggght! (This explanation contradicts a little with what NASA informed us before though, when they stated officially a few years ago that there was an unknown planet in the solar system, approaching Earth.) I can’t question this logic, of course, because they are the ones who hold the data. However, I can’t help but think that if those who live on this unknown planet have some sort of high technology that gives them stealth option, would we still be able to see them? Because, you know, denying the existence of such a planet a few years after stating its existence makes me think of a planet that goes invisible coming closer and closer. Too sci-fi? Well, submarines were too sci-fi when Jules Verne first mentioned about them, and we have stealth fighter planes even now, right?
This is the possibility two.
Q: What is the polar shift theory? Is it true that the Earth’s crust does a 180-degree rotation around the core in a matter of days if not hours?
A: A reversal in the rotation of Earth is impossible. There are slow movements of the continents (for example Antarctica was near the equator hundreds of millions of years ago), but that is irrelevant to claims of reversal of the rotational poles. However, many of the disaster websites pull a bait-and-switch to fool people. They claim a relationship between the rotation and the magnetic polarity of Earth, which does change irregularly, with a magnetic reversal taking place every 400,000 years on average. As far as we know, such a magnetic reversal doesn’t cause any harm to life on Earth. Scientists believe a magnetic reversal is very unlikely to happen in the next few millennia.
QA: Yeah, those same scientists believe they are gods, too; cloning living creatures, creating time-tunnels or black-holes, and we artists are the ones who are called as nut-cases, not them.
This can be called as the possibility three, however I don’t think the ice at the polar would melt on its own and all of a sudden without an external cause.
Q: How do NASA scientists feel about claims of the world ending in 2012?
A: For any claims of disaster or dramatic changes in 2012, where is the science? Where is the evidence? There is none, and for all the fictional assertions, whether they are made in books, movies, documentaries or over the Internet, we cannot change that simple fact. There is no credible evidence for any of the assertions made in support of unusual events taking place in December 2012.
QA: This answer really drove me crazy, you know? Though I will try to keep calm for the sake of objectiveness. Ok, these are all fictional assertions, and there is no solid or scientific evidence. However, there is ONE simple but very important point here: NASA is the only one organization on this planet that has the scientific evidence about the space, because it also keeps others who have such evidence at bay. Then how will we know that this opinion is not the one that is fictional or simply… a lie?
Q: Is there a danger from giant solar storms predicted for 2012?
A: Solar activity has a regular cycle, with peaks approximately every 11 years. Near these activity peaks, solar flares can cause some interruption of satellite communications, although engineers are learning how to build electronics that are protected against most solar storms. But there is no special risk associated with 2012. The next solar maximum will occur in the 2012-2014 time frame and is predicted to be an average solar cycle, no different than previous cycles throughout history.
QA: Frankly, I don’t believe there’s a huge risk about solar storms, so I agree with NASA on this. Well, I’m not a scientist, of course. I’m not even an amateur astronomer, either. However, I trust my instincts, and they tell me the threat will come from the planet (more probably by human hand). So, personally, I don’t believe the threat is related in anyways with Sun.
So at the end of our first article, which we tried to examine and question the subject from the quasi scientific point of view, what these above bring us now?
- There are things that the governments don’t want us to know about space.
- There seem to be two scientific possibilities that might be seen as real threats, which still government people don’t want us to think about much. First one is a very vital scientific experiment called as CERN; second one is an unknown celestial body that is claimed approaching Earth.
- Governments and elite groups have secret underground bases in many places all around the world, and these places can support life for long periods of time. There are many undeniable evidences on Web about such places, which these people still try to deny.
- Japanese Princess Kaoru Nakamaru made some shocking statements about 2012, which she also mentioned about such underground bases, and claims that there are certain things only government people and elites know. (Again, I don’t believe she would risk her political position for just some hoax unless she is not a nut-case as we artists are.)
- The Mayan Calendar’s signal about December 21st, 2012 is most certainly the end of a period, even if the beginning of another, and it quite possibly might be an astrological – or astronomical – one.
